WOMAN KILLED IN COLLISION. (Per United Press Association.) Christchurch, July 14. Elizabeth Ester Bowman, married and resident near Rangiora, was killed last evening in a collision between a motor car and horse and cart. The car which was driven by the husband of deceased, met in a head-on collision with a trap driven by Ellis Walters, a lad. One shaft of the cart penetrated the windscreen of the car and struck Mrs Bowman on the chest entering the right breast. Death was almost instantaneous. TRAVELLER’S SUDDEN DEATH. Dunedin, July 14. George Cooper, a commercial traveller, aged 48, with a wife and grown-up family, was taken suddenly ill at his residence last evening. His condition necessitated removal to the hospital where he died four hours later. At the inquest before Mr H. W. Bundle, S.M., evidence of identification was given by a son and the inquiry was adjourned. FELL DOWN THEATRE STAIRS. Dunedin, July 14*. Louis McDonald, single, aged 27, was admitted to hospital at 11 o’clock last night with a fractured right leg caused by his falling down the stairs of the Princess Theatre.
