FORGERY ALLEGED

SALESMAN ARRESTED. (Per United Press Association.) Christchurch, July 11. Henry Milton Bates, of Australia, described as a salesman, 32 years of age, was arrested in Christchurch yesterday on a charge of forging a document for the supply of goods to the value of £5 10/-. Accused appeared before the Court this morning. Detective-Sergeant Young stated that the offence had taken place in Dunedin and it was understood that there were thirtyone other charges of a varying nature against accused. He asked for a remand to Dunedin. Mr Lawry, S.M., remanded accused to appear in Dunedin on Friday. Application for bail was not entertained.
