SPORTS TRUST CUP
BIG GAME AT GORE. AN INTERESTING FIXTURE. To-morrow the Eastern District SubUnion’s representative team will be called upon for the first time this season to defend its right to the honour of holding the Sports Trust Cup. Although Central was unsuccessful in depriving Eastern of the cup last season, it has now a fairly strong combination and can be relied upon to put up a very good showing. The Eastern team will also be a strong one and while several of those who assisted to defend the cup last season are not available it is generally considered that the team, as a whole is equally as good, if not better, than last year’s team. Additional interest will be taken in the match because of the forthcoming tour of a Sub-Union team, in which individual players in either team will be eager to find a place. With fair weathei conditions the ground should be in good order and a fast, open and evenly contested game may be looked for.
