MAORI DROWNED. (Per United Press Association.) Auckland, May 29. A maori named Kaoho, aged 26 and married, was drowned yesterday near Huntly. NECK BROKEN. Palmerston North, May 29. A sad tragedy occurred at Makerua this afternoon, when Martin Dalzell, son of T. Dalzell, a well-known flax-miller, was killed by a fall from a dray through the horse bolting, the dray passing over him and breaking his neck. YOUNG MAN MISSING. Wellington, May 29. Anxiety is being felt regarding Ernest Walter Oliver, aged 21, of Lower Hutt, who has been missing since the 17th, when he told his parents he was going shooting. DROWNED IN HARBOUR. Wellington, May 29. At about 1 o’clock this afternoon, Anthony McHale, a boiler sealer, aged 50, living in Buckle street, fell off the Queen’s wharf into the harbour. He was taken from the water almost immediately and artificial respiration applied by Dr Faulke, but he failed to respond to the treatment and the doctor pronounced life extinct. He leaves a wife residing in Liverpool, England. CARTRIDGE EXPLODES IN BOY’S HAND. Christchurch, May 29. Harry Codd, a boy eleven years of age of Sydenham, was playing with cartridges today when one was fired, injuring his hand. He was admitted to the hospital this afternoon.
