AMERICAN NAVAL BILL

SENATE OPPOSES MEASURE. (Rec. 11 p.m.) Washington, May 26. The Senate to-day defeated the Navy Bill by 34 votes to 22. There is little likelihood of the measure coming up again for consideration this session of Congress, for the Senate on Monday will consider the House of Representatives’ resolution asking for a Congressional adjournment next Tuesday. Congress will leave much business undone at the adjournment.—Australian Press Association.
