FLIGHT TO AUSTRALLA. London, May 25. Spencer and Sons, balloon-makers of Highbury, are completing a small dirigible in which an Australian. Herbert Campbell, hopes to make a pioneer voyage to Australia during midsummer. Campbell declines to give any details of the proposed flight.— Australian Press Association. SIR ALAN COBHAM. Rugby, May 25. Sir Alan Cobham, who with Lady Cobham and a crew has been engaged on a 20,000 miles aerial survey of South Africa, left for Las Palmas tl ' morning on the concluding stages of his flight.—British Official Wireless. ARRIVAL AT GIBRALTAR. (Rec. 5.5 p.m. I Gibraltar, May 26. Sir Alan Cobham has arrived.—Austral* iar Press Association. AIR LINER CRASHES. (Rec. 5.5 p.m.) Berlin, May 26. A Lufthansa-Frankfurt air liner crashed at Radevormwald and caught fire. The pilot and two passengers were killed and another passenger was grievously injured.— Australian Press Association-United Service. VICTORIAN AERIAL DERBY. COMPETITOR SERIOUSLY INJURED. (Rec. 5.5 p.m.) Melbourne, May 27. The Aerial Derby was won by Captain Follett in a DHSO, his time being 23mins Captain Matthews in a DH4 was second, and J. Stewart in a Moth third. Flight-Lieutenant A. G. Wells, a competitor in an Air Force DH9 machine, struck a high tension electric cable which tore off both wings, then fused with a blinding flash, the machine crashing. Wells is badly injured and may lose his eyesight. His forehead was crushed and his condition critical.—Australian Press Association.
