CHRISTCHURCH DIAMOND JUBILEE. (Per United Press Association.) Christchurch, May 26. The Diamond Jubilee celebrations of Christchurch began to-day with a civic reception by the Mayor to representatives of the Cabinet, the Mayors of Auckland, Dunedin, and Wanganui, and other prominent “visitors. Special football matches were played in the afternoon. This evening there will be a band concert and community singing in Victoria Square. Monday will be observed as a holiday.
