OHAI NOTES
ANGLICAN CHURCH GUILD. (From Our Correspondent.) A meeting was held recently of the Ladies’ Guild of the Ohai Anglican Church, when the nomination of' new officers was Considered, the following being approved: President, Mrs S. Bowman; secretary, Miss F. Bouchier. A vote of appreciation was extended to the retiring office-bearers—Mrs R. Bird, Mrs E. M. Bentley and Mrs L. ( F, Harding for their services during their term of office. It was stated that an increase in the number of Anglicans had been observed since the new church had been in use, and further additional members were initiated into the guild to help with the various duties. Various, suggestions were put forward regarding the raising of fin--ance and it was finally decided to hold a dance on June 1. SHORTAGE OF TRUCKS. On Friday the mines finished work at 3 o’clock owing to the shortage of trucks This has occurred several times quite recently, which means a loss to the various coal companies concerned, and the miners in particular case would lose one and a half hours work. The time is ripe for a solution to be found by the Ohai Railway Board to cope in future with this difficulty..
