SCHOOL TEXT BOOKS

USE IN DOMINIONS. NOT UP-TO-DATE. London, May 24. In the House of Commons Dr H. C. Haslam (Conservative), asked the president of the Board of Education if he was aware that some text *books on the dominions used in schools were not up to date, and whether he would consider calling a conference of educational authorities with a view to securing improvement. Lord Eustace Percy, president of the Board of Education, replied that the board’s consultative committee was investigating the question. He thought it better to await the committee’s report, which is expected to be available in the autumn, before considering what action to take.—Australian Press Association.
