MOWKEY GLANDS

DR. VORONOFF’S WORK EXPERIMENTS HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL WARM RECEPTION AT CAMBRIDGE (United Press Assn.—By Telegraph—Copyright.) (Rec. 11.20 p.m.) London, May 24. Dr. Voronoff, who is paying a flying visit to England, had a boisterous welcome from 500 medical students at Cambridge. He gave a lecture on the miracles of the monkey gland. He explained the early experiments, screened pictures showing the results of gland operations and declared that women need never grow old. “Women who want to hunt and play games again with all the ardour and ability of youth may do so,” he said. “I am convinced that I am able to make people live 140 years, perhaps 150 years because of my experiments on animals. There is a sheep on my farm who has reached the age of 20—equivalent to 148 in human beings. I can do likewise with human beings.”

He described remarkable effects in several cases. He instanced a man in a mental home with his mind a blank, but within six months he resumed his work as a pharmaceutist. A newspaper man whose mind failed reported that he felt as he did 20 years before. The grafts did not give such marked results in women as men, but subsequent experiments overcame the difficulty and he was now ready to declare the operation an unqualified success.— Australian Press Association.
