GOLF

WYNDHAM CLUB (From Our Correspondent.) On Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon the members of the Wyndham Golf Club played a team’s match, President v. Captain, the fairways and greens being in fair order considering the wet weather. Great interest was displayed in the match, and the result was in doubt until the last card was handed in, the result being that the president’s team won by 8 games to 6 games, with two matches unfinished. The results are as follows, the president’s names being mentioned first:—Mrs H. J. Murphy won from Miss L Barnett 3 up and 1 to play, Mrs A. Ross won from Miss M. Baird 2 up and 1 to play, Mrs C. E. Davey lost to Miss McLauchlan 4 down and 3 to play, Mrs F. Williams won from Mrs W. Sheehan 6 up and 4 to play, Mrs W. F. Bennetto lost to Mrs P. J. De La Mare 7 down and 5 to play, Miss F. Fletcher lost to Mrs J. Robertson 2 down, Mrs F, Ball won from Miss M. Macpherson 6 up and 4 to play, Miss L. Richardson lost to Miss A. Bogue 3 down and 2 to play. Mrs L, B. Borrow and Mrs D. Crawford (unfinished), Miss Ayson won from Mrs E. Walker 9 up and 8 to play, J. Henderson won from P. Barnett 1 up, D. Macpherson won from G. Herbert 1 up, E. J. Traynor won from M. Tangney 4 up and 2 to play, J. Hannan lost to F. Ball 3 down and 2 to play, A. McKenzie lost to F. Lindsay 9 down and 8 to play, M. Rice and G. Alexander (unfinished).
