RED CROSS SOCIETY
MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Invercargill Red Cross Society was held in the rooms, Tay street, on Thursday, the 10th inst., there being present Mrs J. G. Petrie (vicepresident) in the chair, Mesdames H. Acton, A. Hamilton, R. Henderson and Nurse Kerse. Minutes of previous meeting were read and confirmed. Correspondence.—Red Cross Nurses: Reports of the activities of Sister Lewis (Wellington), Sister Kirkpatrick (Otago), Nurse Christian (Leeston) and 1 Nurse Corkill (Taranaki) were received for the month of March, 1928. Red Cross Issues. —Headquarters forwarded list of issues of underclothing made by the Wellington and Christchurch Depots for quarterly period, January 1, to March 31, 1928. Meetings.—Headquarters forwarded copies of the minutes of the annual meeting and the meeting of the New Zealand Executive which were held in Auckland on March 21, 1928. League of Red Cross Societies.—Headquarters forwarded copy of the budget of the league for 1928. Hospital Comforts (Southland Hospital). —Mrs J. G. Petrie and Mrs H. Acton reported having visited the Southland Hospital, there being 12 soldier patients at present. Kew Sanatorium.—Mrs A. Hamilton reported having visited the sanatorium, there being at present one soldier patient. Wallace Hospital.—Miss A. E. McNaughton reported having visited the Wallace Hospital weekly, there being at present two soldier patients. Underclothing.—Thirteen applications for underclothing were received, the same being granted. Appreciation.—Six letters of thanks were received. Accounts. —Accounts amounting to £6O 5/1 were passed for payment.
