RUGBY FOOTBALL
THE RIVERSDALE CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING HELD. The annual meeting of the Riversdale Football Club was held last Saturday week, when, in the absence of the president, Mr S. Slocombe was elected to take the chair. The balance-sheet for 1927, was read and adopted. The balance-sheet showed a credit of £4 5/-. This was considered quite satisfactory as £l5 had been donated to the injured players’ fund, and the expenditure was fairly heavy. During the season an injured players’ fund had been established, with the surplus of £l2 10/- from a ball held. The fund now shows a credit of £37 14/-. The election of office-bearers resulted: President, Mr W. McKenzie; vice-presidents, Messrs J. Stevenson, J. C. Macpherson, F. W. Shallard, P. Murray, H. Tayles, A. McKay, C. Reid, J. Kelly, J. Dick and J. Lynch; patrons of the club, Mr W. Kelly and Mr L. Gee; honorary secretary, F. Shallard; committee, Messrs W. McKenzie, F. Shallard, J. Smith, L. Guzton and J. McAuliffe; selection committee, Messrs J. Smith, J. Macaskill and captain; delegates to Sub-Union, Messrs W. McKenzie and J. Kelly. The membership fee was fixed at 5/-.
