MURDER CHARGE FAILS
NEWCASTLE STABBING AFFRAY. Sydney, March 23. Frank Edwards was acquitted on a charge of murdering Sullivan at Newcastle. (A. and N.Z.) A quarrel between two unemployed seamen in a disused coal trimmer’s hut at Newcastle on December 29 ended in the fatal stabbing of William Patrick Sullivan. Immediately after the affray his opponent rushed out and disappeared. Later Frank Edwards gave himself up to the police.
