FRONTIER MYSTERY

OWNERSHIP OF MACHINE GUNS. (Rec. 8.15 p.m.) London, January 25. It is known that the Little Entente’s Note was drafted last week, but is not yet presented at Geneva where presentation is reported to have been postponed in deference to one of the great Powers described as not wholly uninterested. Meantime, Czechoslovakia is the latest to disclaim ownership.—A. and N.Z.

A previous message stated: Tljere has been a great mystery about truckloads of camouflaged Italian machine guns discovered in transit at the frontier railway station at St. Gothard. Nobody knew to whom they belonged and nobody would admit ownership. An Austro-Hungarian commission investigated the matter, and it is now reported that Poland was the destination. Little Entente circles, however, scoff at this finding.
