NORWAY’S CLAIM. PROBLEM OF OWNERSHIP. London, January 24. In a leader concerning Bouvet Island The Times says: ‘‘Perhaps as interest is chiefly concerned with whales the League of Nations ought to organise an expedition with a twofold object, to report on the future of the whale-fishing and to investigate the problem of Bouvet’s ownership. It would be interesting to know whether any islands are still unappropriated. Only the League can be trusted for the task since the League alone has no flag.”—A. and N.Z.
