CONSTITUTION TO BE INVESTIGATED. ROYAL COMMISSION APPOINTED. (Rec. 8.5 p.m.) Melbourne, July 7. Practical steps to give effect to the revision of the Commonwealth constitution on the lines mentioned in Mr Bruce’s policy speech in 1925 have been taken by the Federal Government. A Royal Commission is being appointed immediately to report upon the working of the constitution since federation, and to recommend any desirable changes, particularly with reference to aviation, health, industrial and judicial pc-wers, navigation, new States, taxation, and trade and commerce. The commission will sit at an early date. —A. and N.Z.
