At the annual meeting of the Milking Shorthorn Association the chairman’s report stated that the advance made since the foundation of the society fourteen years ago was wonderful. Commercially the season was a bad one on account of the beef and butter-fat prices being low, nevertheless the breed had maintained its position. The following officers were elected:—President, R. Brown (Weraroa) ; vice-presidents, J. Bateman (Invercargill), J. McLeod (Auckland) ; treasurer, R. D. Duxfield (Horotiu); auditor, C. W. Armstrong (Hamilton). It was decided to support the holding of the Royal Show in the autumn.
