NEW AWARD SOUGHT. (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, June 15. The New Zealand shop federated assistants’ dispute affecting Auckland, Wellington, Westland, Otago and Southland was heard in the Arbitration Court to-day, when decision was reserved. The employees’ representatives asked for a revision of the minimum wage. The employers opposed any increase in the wages, and asked that they be based on age, combined with experience. The inclusion of branch managers, manageresses and lift attendants in the award was opposed.
