FRENCH WAR DEBTS
AMERICA REFUSED TO DISCUSS QUESTION. (Rec. 10.55 p.m.) Washington, June 9. The Secretary of the Treasury (Mr A. W. Mellon) declined to discuss the question of the French Debt and M. Poincare’s statement, but stated that the United States Debt Commission was non-existent and it was not clear how a revision would be possible. He believed that action by Congress would be necessary.—A. and N.Z.
