NEW RECORD IN CHRISTCHURCH. (Per United Press Association.) Christchurch, April 2. Notwithstanding the depression that existed in the building industry in Christchurch towards the close of last, year and in the early part of 1927, the value of new structures authorised by the City Council for the financial year ended on March 31, established a new record. Compared with the previous year the value was greater by £96,953, but it was, however, only £9,361 in excess of the amount for the year ended March 31, 1925, when the previous record was made. RECORD YEAR IN DUNEDIN. Dunedin, April 2. Building permits issued in Dunedin for the year are a record, £811,337, as against £525,121 last year.
