CONSUMPTIVE CASKS

A NORTH CANTERBURY PROTEST. GETTING THEM ALL. (Per United Press Association./ Christchurch, October 27. Application has been made to the North Canterbury Hospital Board for the admission to the consumptive sanatorium of a young woman who landed in New Zealand on September 30 from Australia. The board has made to the Government in regard to the case. “Unless we take care we will be responsible for all the consumptives in the Dominion,” said Mr Leadley, a member of the Board, at to-day’s meeting. “The Government should come to our assistance. We are bearing more than our fair share of the burden of the disease. We have a reputation for the treatment of it and people are coming here from other parts of the Dominion to be treated.” It was decided that the Public Health Committee bring down a re;>ort covering the sanatorium.
