COMPLETELY SETTLED
PACIFIC CABLE DISPUTE. LEGISLATION TO BE INTRODUCED. (Rec. 7.35 p.m.) London, October 26. Representatives of Britain, Canada, Australia and New Zealand arrived at a satisfactory understanding on all outstanding questions connected with the Pacific cable, and the necessary legislation will shortly be introduced to provide for a reorganisation of members on the board, a revising of the method of the chairman’s appointment, and to settle the amount to be placed to the reserve and the manner of disposal of any annual surplus. Relations between the Board and the partner Governments will be more clearly defined.—A. A N.Z.
