RUSSIA MILITANT
“CURL YOUR MOUSTACHES.” WAR COMMISSIONER’S ADVICE TO OFFICERS. Moscow, October 26. “Curl your moustaches and be prepared to meet war in the near future,” said Voroshiloff, Commissioner of War, addressing 6000 newly graduated Red officers. He added —‘The Soviet desires peace, but military conferences in the Baltic States and Poland increasingly threaten Russia, which undoubtedly will be attacked on the smallest excuse.” He warned his hearers of the danger of over-doing comradeship with rankers which would encourage disrespect and disobedience.—A. & N.Z.
