FURTHER FALL

THE MANAWATU SLIP NO TRAINS THIS WEEK WORK OF CLEARING HAZARDOUS (Per United Press Association.) Palmerston North, October 26. A further great fpll of earth occurred last evening at the point in the Manawatu Gorge where the railway line was blocked on Sunday morning by a slip of colossal proportions. It is not now expected that any trains will get through this week. It is problematical when it will be even safe to tranship passengers. A large gang of men worked on the job till about eight o’clock last night when they had to desist on account of the menace of continued falls of rock. During the night the work done was obliterated by a further fall. The risk run by the men engaged in the job is considerable, as a large crack appearing high up on the hill threatens a further serious landslide.
