Furniture.—Brisk business at our Spey street warehouse where there has been a steady demand for Chesterfield, Moquette suites, Mission suites, duchess chests, China cabinets, Nairn’s linoleum, bedsteads and bedding. We specialise in complete house furnishing and our prices are remarkable low. Several first-class pianos on hand, and we invite inspection, and will gladly give quotations. F. BOWDEN & CO. F. Bowden and Co., report the best entry of horses they have ever offered, being some of the finest draughts entered since they have been selling horses. There was a good attendance of buyers, and competition was keen for young horses. There was a good entry of cows, and anything in profit met with keen competition. General business continues to grow and increased sales were made during the week. Good stocks of bran, pollard, clover hay, straw, oats, wheat and potatoes are on hand. Big sales of fencing posts, timber, fencing wire and roofing iron are being made. Supplies of apples and pears have eased off and prices are firmer. Bananas are short, the last shipment arrived in Auckland over-ripe and none were sent south. Oranges and melons are plentiful. Lemons are wanted. A few local tomatoes and grapes are available. Cabbages and cauliflower are slow of sale. CLEARING SALE AT PYRAMID. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., held a most successful clearing sale at Pyramid yesterday on account of Mr E. Soper, senior, who is giving up his farm. The large herd of cattle was disposed of at satisfactory rates, cows selling at £l2, £ll, £6 2/6, £B, £5 12/6, £5 15/-, £4 12/6, £4 10/-, £8 5/-, £5 15/-, £6 16/- and £6 10/- down to £1 7/6. Two heifers sold at £4 12/6, two at £4 and four at £3; 18-months’ old steers and heifers brought £2, and yearling calves 17/-. The machinery and farm implements brought satisfactory prices all through. HORSE SALE AT GORE. YOUNG SORTS IN DEMAND. Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., conducted their monthly horse sale at their bazaar on Saturday afternoon, just on 70 horses being forward. It was quite noticeable that taken all through the quality was above that generally seen in the yards. Unfortunately the weather was wet and the attendance was not large, but everything considered the sale was a fair one. Good young sorts were in demand; but old and stale sorts were slow of sale. The top price was for a big upstanding 7-year-old gelding offered on account of Mr J. Harvey, Waikaia, which realised £46, the purchaser being Mr J. R. McMurray, Gore. Another good quality 4-year-old gelding vended by Mr N. Kelly, Okipua, realised £44, being purchased at this price by Mr W. B. White, Black Hills. Among the best prices realised were 7-years-old mare £39 10/-, 3-year-old gelding £39 10/-; 7-year-old gelding £3O 10/-; 7-year-old mare £33 10/-; gelding £27 10/. Part of the yarding consisted of unbroken colts and geldings and these sold under fair competition at prices ranging from £7 10/- to £2O. THE SHAREMARKET. SATURDAY’S TRANSACTIONS. Auckland, June 13.
