WRECKED STEAMER
FATE OF CREW UNCERTAIN. Tokio, April 30. The wrecked steamer Chichibu Maru carried a crew of 26 and 233 fishermen passengers en route to the Kamchatka fisheries. She struck on the rocks in the Kuriles. The fate of those aboard is still unknown. A destroyer is proceeding to the scene.— Reuter. Tokio, April 30. A despatch from Hakodate expresses fear that the steamer Chichibu Maru has sunk with all hands as no more has been heard from her, though she was equipped with wireless.—Reuter.
