MEAT CONTRACT GOES TO AUSTRALIA. (By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) SYDNEY, October 23. A cable received from the Australian Meat Council’s London office states that the War Department has given Australia the entire contract for the Mediterranean Station’s requirements of beef and mutton for six months ending May 31 next. The total quantities are estimated at 3025 tons of beef and 315 tons of mutton.
