GIRLS’ HIGH SCHOOL

ANNUAL SPORTS DAY. A SUCCESSFUL FIXTURE. The Southland Girls’ High School held its annual sports day at Rugby Park yesterday. Big entries were the order of the day, in one event (the obstacle race) no fewer than 81 girls taking part. Despite the large number of events, the programme was put through with a promptness and precision not generally experienced in gatherings of a like kind. There was a fair attendance of friends, who shared with the girls the excitement provided in most of the contests. The officials who assisted in controlling a successful function were as follows:—Mr J.
