AIR FLIGHT

PARIS TO NEW YORK. FREAK FRENCH MONOPLANE. (Sun Special.) LONDON, April 13. A French-American, Raymond Orteig, has offered £5500 as a prize for a flight by a Frenchman from Paris to New York. For this flight the aeroplane constructor Demonge has designed a freak monoplane which will carry its crew, engines and petrol supply in the wings which will be 7ft thick amidships. Captain d’Oisy, who got as far as China in an attempted flight round the world, will probably pilot the machine.
