OBITUARY
DEATHS AT SYDNEY. (By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright). (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) SYDNEY, January 27. The deaths are announced of Dr Sydney Jamieson, one of the early medical men, and Mr Frank Charlton, a singer (formerly of Wellington). LORD CLAUD HAMILTON. LONDON, January 26. Lord Claud Hamilton is dead. The Right Hon. Lord Claud Hamilton was the second son of the first Duke of Abercorn. He was born on February 20, 1843. He was educated at Harrow, and entered the Grenadier Guards in 1863. In 1867 he was appointed aide-de-camp to Queen Victoria. He was M.P. for Londonderry from 1865 to 1868, and a Lord of the Treasury in 1868. He afterwards represented King’s Lynn, Liverpool and South Kensington. SIR JAMES MACKENZIE. LONDON, January 26. Tbe death is announced of Sir James Mackenzie. Sir James Mackenzie, who was born in 1853, was consulting physician to the King in Scotland, and consulting physician to the London Hospital. He had a consulting practice in London from 1907 to 1918. He was the author of several medical works.
