“HELLO, EUROPE”
WIRELESS CALL RECEIVED IN FRANCE. (Special to the Times.) WELLINGTON, January 26. Mr Frank Bell, an amateur wireless operator of Shag Valley, Otago, who was the first to establish a two-way communication by radio with London and the United States, has now succeeded in communicating with France. M. Menars, an amateur near Pau, reports having received the following message from Mr Bell: “Hullo Europe. This is Palmerston, New Zealand. New Zealand wireless amateurs send their heartiest congratulations to the French and British amateurs fbr their brilliant efforts in wireless telephony.” Every word, the Frenchman stated, came through with the utmost clearness
