SCHEME OF J. D. ROCKFELLER JUNIOR. Sun Special.) NEW YORK, December 6. Mr John D. Rockfeller, jun., the multimillionaire, has arranged to spend several million dollars in the next few years in the construction of model tenements in New York slums. The first of these tenements has been begun. It will cost 500,000 dollars (approximately £100,000). It will have garden space and playgrounds for children. The six-room apartments will approximate 12 dollars (about £2 8/-) for each suite. Mr. Rockfeller intends the first building to serve as an experiment on which to base numerous similar projects.
