With cargo from Auckland, via Dunedin, the Wanaka is due at Bluff this morning. After discharge she loads for the north, sailing on Saturday for Dunedin. The Whangape left Sydney on Saturday with cargo for Lyttelton, Dunedin, Oamaru and Bluff, and is due here during the first week of January. From here she returns to Sydney direct. The Zealandic is due at Bluff from Lyttelton on January 7 to load dairy produce and general cargo for London. The Kaitoke, with a full load of timber from Port Stephens for Bluff and Dunedin, is due here on December 30. THE MELBOURNE SERVICE. The Moeraki, which arrived at Melbourne on Wednesday afternoon from Bluff, sailed again on Monday for Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Bluff. She is due here about January 3, sailing the same day for Melbourne direct. The Manuka was to leave Wellington yesterday for Melbourne, and returns to New Zealand, leaving Melbourne ’on January 2. She is due at Bluff on January 6, and then returns to Melbourne via Dunedin, Lyttelton and Wellington. CANADIAN GOVERNMENT LINE. MOVEMENTS OF STEAMERS. The Canadian Government Agency announce the following movements:— The Canadian Britisher, which left Auckland at 6 p.m. on November 8, arrived at Panama on December 10, and sailed again at 9 p.m. on December 11 for New York, Boston, and Halifax. The Canadian Traveller left Adelaide at 5 p.m. on December 12 for Napier, where she arrived on Sunday night. She proceeds thence to Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru, and Dunedin, being due here on December 31. The vessel will proceed from Dunedin to Auckland, and is to sail from that port about January 10 for New York, Boston, and Halifax. The Canadian Constructor sailed from Montreal on November 25 at 10 a.m. for Auckland, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide. She arrived at Panama on December 8, and sailed again at 6.30 p.m. on December 9. The vessel is due at Auckland on January 3. After discharge in Australia the vessel returns to New Zealand to load for New York, Boston, and Halifax. The Canadian Explorer was expected to leave Halifax on December 20 for Auckland, Brisbane, Sydney, and Adelaide. The Canadian Cruiser arrived at Auckland at 9 a.m. on December 11 from Montreal, and sailed for Brisbane at 1 p.m. on December 13. She will return to New Zealand about the middle of January to load for New York, Boston, and Halifax. TRANS-PACIFIC CARGO SERVICE. UNION COMPANY’S FLEET. The Union Company report the following movements of their trans-Pacific steamers: The Hauraki, from Pacific Coast ports via Auckland and Wellington, left Melbourne About yesterday for Brisbane and Sydney. The Waiotapu, from Newcastle, left Wellington on Friday, December 19, for Fanning Island and Vancouver, to load at Pacific Coast ports in January for Auckland, Melbourne and Sydney. She is due at Fanning Island about December 31. The Wairuna, from Queensland ports, via Honolulu, arrived at Vancouver on Sunday, December 14. She loads at Vancouver and San Francisco for Wellington, Melbourne and Sydney. The Trelyon, from Pacific Coast ports, sailed from San Francisco on Saturday, December 13, for Auckland, Melbourne, Sydney and Newcastle. She is due at Auckland about January 11. The Sheaf Mount, from Pacific Coast ports, sailed from San Francisco on Saturday, December 13, for Auckland, Napier, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, New Plymouth. Sailed—Wahine and Maori, for Wellington; Tees, for the Chatham Islands; Kamo, for Westport. WELLINGTON, December 23. Arrived—Maunganui, from San Francisco; Maori, Kaitangata, Wingatui and Wahine, from Lyttelton. Sailed—Maori, Corinna and Wahine, for Lyttelton; Kaikorai, for Napier; Maunganui, for Sydney.

THE FERRY SERVICE. SOME GOOD RUNS. WELLINGTON, December 23. I%e Union Company’s ferry steamers made splendid runnings on Tuesday, the Wahine establishing a Wellington-Lyttelton record. The steamer left Lyttelton at 9.25 a.m. on Tuesday and ran into bad weather on two occasions on the journey, but arrived at Wellington at 6.15 p.m., averaging 20.4 knots. The Maori left Wellington at 830 ajn. on Tuesday and averaged 18| knots.
