VISIT TO SOUTH AFRICA

PARLIAMENTARY delegation. (Our Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, July 9. An invitation has been received by the New Zealand Parliament for a delegation to visit the Union of South Africa, under the auspices of the Empire Parliamentary Association. The Prime Minister stated to-day that so far as he knew at present, he did not think any inembera of Parliament contemplated making the trip. Three members of the Federal House of Representatives and two members of the Senate, representing the Ministerial parties, will leave Australia at the end of the month for South Africa. Attempts are being made to induce the Labour Party to reVeree its former decision in view of the desirability of making the delegation as representative as possible. The Government are not concerned about the matter of “pairs” as they have a sufficient majority to enable their own nominees being absent from Australia.
