A COMPROMISE
JAPAN AND RUSSIA. (By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) TOKIO, June 18. It is understood that through compromise between the parties a satisfactory basis has been reached for a formal agreement on the question at issue between Russia and Japan, including the withdrawal of Japanese troops and the recognition of the responsibility for the Nikolaievsk massacre. The settlement requires the Cabinet’s approval.
