The police beckoned him to approach and, although armed with a loaded double-bar-relled gun, he did so. When arrested he gave the name ol Robert Fend wick, aged 27 years. It appears that the desperado drove to the outskirts of Marulan on Thursday night, hid his sulky in a thick scrub, begged food and then hawked round some bags which ha had been using as blankets. He actually sold them and purchased food and cigarettes with the money. Next morning ha again visited the store and purchased biscuits. The storekeeper noticed a resemblance to the “wanted” man and got in touch with the police. Meantime the man left the township but the police overtook him seven miles out. The man quietlj entered the police car and was removed tc the Goulburn lock-up.
