AFFAIRS IN GERMANY

ANGLO-FRENCH AGREEMENT. DISARMING THE POPULACE. (By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright.) LONDON, February 17. (Received February 17, 7.5 p.m.) It is anticipated that as a result of further Anglo-French communications an agreement will be reached on the Palatinate question and that a commission will shortly be despatched to the Palatinate composed of British, French and Belgian officials to advise the Bavarian local Council regarding the carrying on of the administration pending the establishment of a new permanent administration. The chief task at present appears to be arming the police and disarming the population. PARIS, February 17. Prompt action by French gendarmes at Frankenthal, in dispersing crowds who were besieging the Separatists inthe sub-prefec-ture, prevented a repetition of the events at Pirmasens and Kaiserlautern.
