(Received December 16, 11 p.m.) The New York Times’ correspondent at Tiffin (Ohio), telegraphs that the Mayor and twenty-four other prominent citizens of that city have been indicted by a Federal Grand Jury charging them with conspiracy to manufacture and sell liquor. The activities of the groups were spread over a large territory, and involved an annual business believed to exceed 1,000,000 dollars. It continued to operate without molestation through the inactivity of the police ’ departments, and as a result of the Mayor’s influence. Several convivial parties, however, were given by the group and resulted in a scandal. The Federal Grand Jury, after investigating the case for three months, ultimately returned the indictments.
