WYNDHAM SCHOOL COMMITTER (From our own correspondent.) The monthly meeting of the above com* mittee was held on Monday last when there were present Messrs E. Sherborne (chairman), A. McKerrow, W. A. Allison, W. O. C. McKay, Robert Richardson, J. A. Munro and G. J. C. Smart (tyon secretary). was received from the Education Board that Mr Sligo would commence his duties next Monday. Accounts amounting to £1 3s were parsed for payment. A report of the recent school concert was received and passed, the net profit amounting to £2O 3s 7d. A special vote of thanks was passed to Mr E. Sherborne (chairman) and G. J. C. Smart (secretary) for organising and successfully carrying out the entertainment. The headmaster's and inspector’s report were tabled anri discussed, after which it was decided that the Education Board be asked to subsidise the profit of the concert (which amount should be spent in improvements to the school, grounds, etc), the committee, as a whole, to meet at the school this week with a view of drawing up a scheme of improvements. Messrs E. Sherborne and R. Richardson were appointed a sub committee to select the school prize® for the break up in December. It was decided to hold the school picnic on the recreation reserve on the day previous to closing the school for term holidays. With reference U. the school excursion it was resolven p arrange for Wednesday, February 6, 1924, and that the outing be at Bluff. Wyndham show day an November was set down as a school holiday.
