CURING TUBERCULOSIS

NEW SWISS METHOD. LONDON, June 21. According to the Geneva correspondent of the Daily News, Dr Jenter, a surgeon at the Geneva Cantonal Hospital, has been experimenting since 1920 with a vaccine for tuberculosis, known as Gamealn. The treatment is similar to the Dreyer treatment, the chief difference being that Gamealn aims at dissolving the fatty covering of the bacilli already in the system, whereas Professor Dreyer injects into the patient the dead bacilli, stripped of the fat. Dr Jenter has treated 200 serious cases in three years in Geneva. A similar number was treated at Vienna by Professor Saffron and Dr Natausch. Cures were effected in 70 per cent, of surgical cases, and 38 per cent, of lung cases.
