ADVICE TO BRITISH VISITORS ELLIS ISLAND SCANDAL. LONDON, June 26. Replying in the House of Commons to a member’s complaint of the disagreeable treatment of an Englishwoman at Ellis Island, though she was merely visiting friends in the United States, Mr Ronald McNeill, Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs, said that having regard to the unfortunate experiences of many British subjects, they could only be advised to refrain from visiting the United States unless necessary.
