AUSTRALIAN ART
PICTURES FOR ENGLAND. (By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) SYDNEY, June 19. (Received June 19, 7.35 p.m.). The selectors of the pictures for the coming London Exhibition of Australian art are being given an unenviable time. The press teems with letters, condemning their selections in bulk and singly, as not truly representative of the best Australian art and even suggesting favouritism. Some individual artists have withdrawn their pictures from the hands of the committee, others, as well as the Victorian artists, as a body, threaten similar action.
