HOCKEY ASSOCIATION. MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. A meeting of the executive of the Southland Ladies’ Hockey Association was held last night, those present being Mr H. J. Kilby R B. McKay, C. Asblqy,
L. Holmes, E. Batten, Misses Godward, Thompson, Bloomfield, Bell and Mesdames Tattersfield and Olsen.
A discussion was held with reference to the selection of a suitable uniform for the representative team and it was eventually decided to adopt a navy shirt with a maroon blouse.
A letter was received from the secretary of the Technical College Club advising that there would be three Technical College teams in the junior competitions.
The secretary of the New Zealand Ladies’ Hockey Association wrote saying that the Southland Association’s application to have the annual tournament held in Invercargill would be considered at the next meeting of the Council early in July. It was decided to play off Winton and Union at Invercargill to-day fortnight for the final of the Saturday competition, the expenses of the Winton team to be paid by the Association. TO-DAY’S FIXTURES. Winton v. High School, Queen's Park No. 2, 3.15 p.m. Referee —Mr A. J. Hamilton. Collegiate v. Union, Queen’s Park No. 1, 3 p.m. Referee—Mr S. Smith. High School B. v. H. and J. Smith’s, Queen’s Park No. 3, 3.15 p.m. The fixtures on the following Wednesday will be:— High School v. Collegiate. Winton v. Union at Winton.
