Rampignon, a young boxer, received heavy punishment in a fight for the French fly weight championship, against Gleizes, the holder. He appeared to be quite well after the contest, but a few hours later he became ill. When the doctor arrived he found Rampignon dead from cerebral hemorrhage. MARATHON RACE. LONDON, June 17. The Polytechnic Marathon held at Windsor was won by Jansen (Denmark), in 160 min. 46 4-ssec. Jack Johnston, aged 22, for breaking, entering and theft at New Plymouth, received three years’ hard labour.
