KILLED IN QUARRY. (Per United Press Association.) DUNEDIN, June 18. The inquest was concluded to-day, before Mr Bartholomew, S.M., into the circumstances of the death of Arthur Joseph Pobar, who died from injuries sustained as a result cf a fall of stone at Calder’s Quarry on June 7. Evidence was given as to the inspection of the face of the quarry by the forema’/ and the coroner, in his verdict, he held that in this respect there was no negligence on the part of his employers. Death was due to shock following a fracture of the skull, caused either by falling or by being struck in an accidental fall of stone at Calder’s Quarry on June 7. ELDERLY MAN’S DEATH. WELLINGTON, June 18. An elderly man, Robert Gray Newell, who was found in a state of collapse in Daniel street on Friday, died in the hospital this morning without regaining consciousness. It is believed the man resided at Petone.
