GOVERNMENT CONTROL OPPOSED. (By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright). WASHINGTON, June 17. (Received June 18, 7.15 p.m.) The National Merchant Marine Association declared by an overwhelming majority vote its opposition to the plan for the Government operating of American merchant marine. The Association unanimously favoured the sale of the Government merchant fleet to Americans on the most favourable terms possible, while opposing sales to foreigners.
