RAILWAY BUNGLE

MISSING JEWELLERY FOUND (Per United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, June 14. A commercial traveller representing a Melbourne firm had a great load lifted from his mind to-day when Inspector Cassels informed him that jewellery valued at a large sum, which he had reported as missing, had been recovered. The traveller consigned the packages at Balclutha intending them to go to Christchurch. When he arrived in the city, however, no trace of the valuable packages could be found. He informed Inspector Cassels who promptly wired the Superintendent of Police in Dunedin and every effort was made to trace the goods. It was eventually discovered that the jewellery had gone to Lawrence, Central Otago, and the traveller was informed to-day it was on the to Christchurch. “That is joyful newst” said the owner. He expressed thanks warmly and congratulated the police officers on their prompt work.
