BRITAIN TO THE EORE. LONDON, May 29. The commission which is supervising the allotment of space at the forthcoming Empire Exhibition is receiving so many appheations that late applicants will experience difficulty in being accommodated. The West Indies has doubled its original area, and South Africa has requested to be given the same space as Australia, and has been allotted a hillside near the stadium for native villages. The Palace of Engineering is nearly full, and British firms have booked the whole [of rhe i’alace of Industry,, in which the British Government intends to make a [special exhibit. New Zealand is calling for tenders for a pavilion this week. Following an application to employ an. Australian band, the management has appointed a committee to offer engagements to a band representing each dominion, with special remuneration for bandsmen paying their own travelling expenses. The managers for the High Commissioners have approved of the agreements under which the dominions will participate in the profits in proportion to the amounts spent; the dominions not to be responsible for any losses.
