TOWN HALL

DUNEDIN’S NEED. MEETING FAVOURS PROJECT. (Per United Press Association.) DUNEDIN, June 12. A public meeting, fairly well attended, was held to-night at the invitation of the Mayor, to discuss the project for the erection of a Town Hall in Dunedin. The Hon. G. M. Thomson moved as follows: — “That in view of the importance of the project about to be undertaken in Dunedin and the absence of suitable accommodation, in which to hold great Imperial, national or civic functions, that it is essential, that a new town hall, worthy of the city be erected, and this meeting of citizens urges the ratepayers-to vote in favour of the Joan at the poll to be taken on June 17.” The resolution was carried, only two voting against it. Those present formed themselves into a committee to further the project.
